Maintenance

Remember the three C’s of pool care:
Circulation, Cleaning, and Chemistry

Circulation

The water in your pool needs to circulate regularly to ensure it is filtered efficiently and to prevent stagnation, algae, and damage to critical pool components.

Cleaning

Foreign objects like leaves, pine needles, dirt, and more need to be removed from your pool promptly.

Chemistry

The PH level of your pool’s water needs to be maintained between 7 and 7.6. Levels significantly higher or lower can lead to skin rashes, burning eyes, cloudy water, and abrasive calcium deposits on your pool’s hard surfaces.

How Much Care Will
My New Pool Require?

Pool care requirements can vary significantly depending on frequency of use, location, size, temperature, and design.

The most important elements of pool care
typically include the following:

  • We recommend you circulate and filter your pool water for 24 hours.

  • Clean and maintain your pool’s filters about once a month.
  • Skim leaves, pine needles, etc. from the water’s surface daily.
  • Vacuum your pool once a week, or more as needed.
  • Check your pool’s PH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness once a week.
    Add chemicals as needed.
  • Add pool shock after heavy rains or after your pool was used by more people than normal.
